Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai's Aasif Sheikh & Geetanjali Mishra On Improvised Exchanges Making To Script
TV actors celebrate International Jokes Day by sharing stories of spontaneous moments on set that led to iconic lines, enhancing authenticity and viewer connection.

As we celebrate International Jokes Day, television actors reminisce about their unscripted moments on set that led to the creation of iconic lines. These spontaneous exchanges often occur during rehearsals or while shooting a scene, showcasing each actor's creativity and adding authenticity to their performance. &TV artists Aasif Sheikh (Vibhuti Mishra, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai) and Geetanjali Mishra (Rajesh, Happu Ki Ultan Paltan) share some of these amusing instances that eventually made it into the show's script.
Geetanjali Mishra, who plays Rajesh in Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, recalls a day on set when she was shooting a morning scene with Katori Amma (Himani Shivpuri) and Bimlesh (Sapna Sikarwar). In the scene, she teased Bimlesh about her freedom to have fun with her husband since they live alone. Katori Amma then humorously responded with a line Geetanjali improvised, which was immediately included in the scene by the director. The scene became an instant hit, garnering over 40 million views on social media and serving as a reminder of how genuine and spontaneous humour can resonate with audiences.
Aasif Sheikh, who portrays Vibhuti Mishra in Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai, shares his experience of improvising jokes that ended up in the scripts and became fan favourites. One such memorable line is "I am sarry, bhabiji." This line was born out of an accident when Aasif hit his co-star Soumya Tandon's leg during a scene. The director liked his apology so much that he included it in the next scene. This unscripted moment became one of Aasif's most famous lines, demonstrating how spontaneous comedy can connect with audiences.
