After Tanhaiyan and The Great Indian Dysfunctional Family, Barun Sobti will be seen in yet another web series named Asura. He will be seen playing the role of a forensic officer.
The heartthrob of television industry, Barun Sobti, who was last seen on Gul Khan's show Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon 3, will be seen in yet another web series named Asura. He will be seen playing the lead in the psychological thriller that will launch in the coming months. The show is a psychological thriller which explores the hidden world of forensic science against the mystical mythology of Benares. On the show, Barun will be seen playing the role of a forensic expert.
The actor says that the subject of serial killers has always fascinated him and he feels that he will be an ideal fit for the role! Read on to know more about the show and his character.
Barun Sobti Talks About The New Venture
Talking about the new venture, Barun told IE, "I feel so lucky to have got this opportunity. The script is a powerful one. I actually questioned myself, ‘Why do they want me?' So I grabbed it in the first go."
Barun To Play Forensic Officer In Asura
Regarding his role, the actor told the leading daily, "I cannot talk much about it but the show is about a serial killer. I am playing a forensic officer and it's going to be like a cat and mouse chase between them. This is the most intelligently written script that I have read. It is a thriller and has been put together really well."
The Actor Has No Insecurity Issues With A 2-hero Project
During the launch, the makers revealed that Barun will be accompanied by another Bollywood star on the show. The actor says that he has no insecurity issues with a two-hero project.

"A good project is all about teamwork. I know it sounds good in news headlines but actors can work together as well. It takes a tremendous effort to make a show. Such futile things can never become an issue."

The actor previously appeared on Gul Khan's web series Tanhaiyan, in which he was paired opposite Surbhi Jyoti. The show was a super-hit and ranked No. 2 on Hotstar. The actor had also shot for Ekta Kapoor's web series The Great Indian Dysfunctional Family.
The Great Indian Dysfunctional Family
The Great Indian Dysfunctional Family is based on two brothers and how a disagreement leads to a major family falling out. Bollywood actor, Kay Kay Menon will also be seen on the show. While Kay Kay Menon will be seen essaying the role of an elder brother (Vikram) to Barun will be seen as his younger brother, Samar. The show's premiere is yet to be announced.
The Actor Is Looking Forward To Both The Shows
The actor told the leading daily that he is excited to work in another web series soon. He said, "I think I am one actor, who has benefitted the most with the rise of digital. I am really looking forward to starting both these shows."
