Arjun Bijlani and Kanika Mann-starrer Roohaniyat is all set to release on March 23, 2022 on MX Player. The makers released the upcoming web series' trailer a few days ago, and as expected, it has created a solid buzz amongst the masses. Talking about the star cast, the show also stars Geetika Mehandru, Shaan Groverr, Aman Verma and others in pivotal roles.

Ahead of Roohaniyat's release, Filmibeat had an exclusive interaction with Geetika Mehandru, in which she opened up about her character in the web show and revealed why she said 'Yes' to the Arjun Bijlani and Kanika Mann-starrer.

Why Geetika Mehandru Said ‘YES’ To Roohaniyat

In conversation with us, Geetika Mehandru revealed that she said yes to the web show because of her character Gouri and its relatability. The actress said, "Roohaniyat gave me Gouri, who I was looking for a long period of time to play. I really wanted to play something relatable to me. Gouri is like Geetika. And, I was playing a sweet girl as a friend or a sister for a long period of time but here with Gouri, I got that chance to experience a lot of emotions, weird situations, travel. There was no way to say no."

Geetika On Her Character In Roohaniyat

While sharing about her character, the Choti Sarrdaarni actress said, "Gouri is from Chandigarh, and she is way too mature than her age. She belongs to a broken family. Gouri started taking care of herself at a very young age. She's a single child. Her parents went ahead and married different people. She loves her parents but cannot digest the fact that her parents separated and then married other people and now have become best of friends, sharing everything under the sun. This situation is not palatable to her. Post 10th standard, she moves to Pune for her studies. And started dating her professor. I can't even imagine playing another character, this character is so so so close to me. Gouri is equal to solutions. Gouri has got her own style statement."

Actress On Best Platform For An Actor To Showcase His/Her Talent

With Roohaniyat, Geetika Mehandru will be one of the actresses who has featured in TV shows, movies and web series. When asked which is the best platform for an actor, she said, "Each and every platform is best in their own way. I did what came my way. And I don't think so much. I try and give my best on each and every platform. It's my learning time. I'm exploring each and every single thing."

Geetika Mehandru’s Upcoming Projects

Geetika is currently seen in Choti Sarrdaarni. She will also be seen in Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur-starrer Jersey, directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri. The film is slated to release on April 14, 2022 in theatres.
