The highly anticipated movie 'Jailer,' featuring Rajinikanth as a jailer and making headlines in the entertainment industry, has stirred up a dispute with the Malayalam film 'Jailer,' directed by Zakeer Madathil and starring Dhyan Sreenivasan. Zakeer Madathil claims that the name 'Jailer' was originally registered for his film with the Kerala Film Chamber on August 21, 2021. However, Rajinikanth's movie 'Jailer' registered the same name in 2022. "We were planning to release our film 'Jailer' in August, but Rajinikanth's 'Jailer' was announced for an August 10 release. We immediately sent them a notice, requesting that they not use the name 'Jailer, at least in Kerala, where the film industry is relatively smaller. In contrast, Rajinikanth's movie has a global reach with the inclusion of Mohanlal. We were concerned that if they proceeded with the name 'Jailer,' it might overshadow our film. However, they responded that changing the name could lead to significant legal complications, as their movie is produced by a corporate company and stars Rajinikanth. Unfortunately, they also sent a lawyer's notice to change our movie's name," Director Zakeer Madathil expressed to the media, stating the current crisis faced by the makers of the Malayalam 'Jailer.'
