Jr NTR, Ram Charan, MM Keeravani Invited To Join Oscars' Academy: The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), responsible for the esteemed Oscar Awards, has extended invitations to 398 new artists as members.
Among these are Indian superstars Ram Charan and Jr. NTR, along with other crew members of the blockbuster film RRR. The tremendous success of RRR catapulted these Telugu actors to global stardom, culminating in the film's historic Oscar win in March, marking a significant milestone for Indian cinema.

The list of 398 invitees also includes renowned names like Taylor Swift, Keke Palmer, and the acclaimed director-duo Daniels of the sensational film Everything, Everywhere, All At Once.
Apart from Ram Charan and Jr. NTR, other RRR contributors have also received invitations from the Academy. Composer MM Keeravani and lyricist Chandra Bose, who won the Oscar for Best Original Song (Naatu Naatu), as well as the film's art director Sabu Cyril and cinematographer K.K. Senthil Kumar, have been recognised for their exceptional contributions.
Accepting the invitation to become Academy members grants these artists the privilege of voting rights in the future Academy Awards, widely known as the Oscars, one of the most prestigious film honours worldwide.
Currently comprising over 10,000 members, the Academy's count is set to rise to 10,817 if all the invitees this year accept, with 9,375 members eligible to cast their votes.
RRR's Global Success
Directed by SS Rajamouli, RRR emerged as a massive hit in India, shattering numerous box office records. This Telugu period action drama raked in a staggering Rs 1,250 crore globally, solidifying its position as one of the highest-grossing Indian films ever. Following its release on Netflix, RRR garnered a cult following in the US, leading to multiple award nominations and victories, including at the Golden Globes and the Oscars.
