Salaar vs. Dunki Day 1 Box Office: Prabhas' Movie's Advance Booking Is Bigger Than SRK's Film's Collection

Salaar vs. Dunki Day 1 Box Office Collection: In a monumental face-off at the Indian box office, Prashanth Neel's "Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire" is overtaking Shah Rukh Khan's "Dunki." While "Dunki," released on December 21, anticipates a day 1 earning of approximately Rs 30 crore, "Salaar" has surged ahead, with advance bookings totaling approximately Rs 48.94 crore, leading by nearly Rs 19 crore.
According to Times of India report, this year, the Indian Box Office has witnessed several clashes-from Gadar 2 vs. OMG 2 to Oppenheimer vs. Barbie, or Fukrey 3 vs. The Vaccine War. However, none have been as significant as "Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire" and "Dunki."
'Dunki' marks Shah Rukh Khan's third release after the success of "Jawan" and "Pathaan," while the latter is Prashanth Neel's first film after the blockbuster KGF franchise and teaming up with Prabhas for the first time.
Early numbers suggest that "Salaar" is surpassing King Khan by a considerable margin. Sacnilk, an industry tracker, projects "Dunki" to gross around Rs 30 crore on its first day, marking the lowest for a Shah Rukh Khan starrer this year. Despite high expectations, the film's final outcome on the big screen left fans dissatisfied. While SRK's performance received praise, criticism was aimed at the writing and direction, reports ToI.
'Salaar' Advance Booking Tops 'Dunki' Day 1 Collection
As for "Salaar," released on December 22, the film's early screenings at 1 AM and 3 AM have generated predominantly positive buzz among fans. Its advance booking exceeds the day 1 collection of SRK's "Dunki," with Sacnilk reporting approximately 2,238,346 tickets sold across the country, amassing an advance total of Rs 48.94 crore-a significant lead of nearly Rs 19 crore.
Final figures for day 1 are pending, but with positive word of mouth, predictions from Sacnilk hint at a possible collection close to Rs 95 crore, potentially marking one of the largest day 1 collections.
Apart from Prabhas, the film features an ensemble cast including Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, Tinnu Anand, Jagapathi Babu, Easwari Rao, and Sriya Reddy.
