Kalki 2898 AD: Shobana's Stunning Character Look In Prabhas And Nag Ashwin's Epic Sci-Fi Movie Unveiled

Kalki 2898 AD Character Look Posters: Prabhas' upcoming Indian epic dystopian science fiction action film, written and directed by Nag Ashwin, is one of the most highly anticipated movies. The film is set to release in just 8 days, and the makers have now ramped up their promotional efforts.

Today, the pre-release event will be held in Mumbai. The makers have begun unveiling character introductions and countdown posters featuring the cast of the movie.

Shobana's 'Mariam' Stuns

In a striking poster, they have revealed the character look of veteran actress Shobana, who plays the pivotal role of 'Mariam' in this eagerly awaited film. The poster captivates with the actress's beauty and strong personality, complemented by the intriguing lines: "Her ancestors waited too, just like her."

Shobana, a National Award-winning actor and dancer, is set to make her return to the Telugu screen after an absence of 18 years. Her last appearance in a Telugu film was in the 2006 movie 'Game'.

Kalki 2898 AD Premise

In the year 2898 AD, the city of Kasi, now a desert wasteland, stands as the sole surviving city governed by a totalitarian ruling class led by the god-king Supreme Yaskin. They command from a hovering pyramidal megastructure known as the Complex. The tale unfolds against the backdrop of Indian mythology and a dystopian future, spanning millennia from the events of the Mahabharata in 3102 BC-the onset of Kali Yuga-to the year 2898 AD. At its heart is the mysterious persona of Kalki, the tenth and final avatar of the Hindu deity Vishnu.

The star-studded cast of the movie features Prabhas in the role of Bhairava, a bounty hunter, alongside Amitabh Bachchan as Ashwatthama and Kamal Haasan portraying the Supreme Yaskin. Deepika Padukone stars as SUM-80, with Disha Patani playing Roxie. Also joining the ensemble are Rajendra Prasad, Saswata Chatterjee as Commander Manas, Brahmanandam as Rajan (Bhairava's landlord), Pasupathy as Veeran (a rebel from Shambhala), Anna Ben as Kyra (Veeran's associate), and Shobhana in the role of Mariam. Harshith Malgireddy and Keerthy Suresh complete the lineup as BU-JZ-1, alias Bujji, Bhairava's companion AI droid and vehicle (voice-over).
