Roja's Defeat In The Lok Sabha Election 2024: Will The Actress Return To Jabardasth?

Jabardasth Judge Roja: Jabardasth, a Telugu sketch comedy television series, is created by Mallemala Entertainments. Initially helmed by Sanjeev K Kumar, it later saw direction by his associates Nithin and Bharat. The show debuted on ETV on February 7, 2013.

Actress and politician Roja has been a prominent presence on Jabardasth since its inception until 2022, serving as a judge. The Roja-Naga Babu duo was highly successful, adjudicating the show together for numerous years.

Roja's engagement with the comedians on Jabardasth garnered widespread acclaim. Her witty retorts and punchy dialogue from the judge's chair were highly entertaining. Her involvement in Jabardasth was a massive hit, even during her tenure as an MLA, as she continued to serve as a judge.

Following disputes with Mallemala Entertainments, Naga Babu departed from Jabardasth, paving the way for singer Manu to step in as his replacement. Singer Manu, alongside Roja, served as judges on Jabardasth for an extended period. However, upon Roja's appointment as a minister, she too bid farewell to Jabardasth.

After Roja's departure, actress Indraja assumed her position on the show. Amidst various changes in personnel, Indraja remained a consistent presence. Actor Krishna Bhagavaan now joins Indraja as one of the judges on Jabardasth. Additionally, Kushboo has also made an appearance as a guest judge on the show.

Will Roja Return to Jabardasth?

Following her defeat in the 2024 general elections, rumours swirl that Roja may rejoin Jabardasth. If this speculation turns into reality, the show could reclaim its former glory. Jabardasth has noticeably waned in popularity recently.

The show was hosted by Anasuya Bharadwaj and is now led by Siri Hanumanth. Jani and Sekhar have made guest appearances as judges. In 2014, an extended version called Extra Jabardasth debuted. In both Jabardasth and Extra Jabardasth, six teams compete in comedy skits judged by singer Mano and actress Roja, each receiving a score out of 10. Winners are awarded a cash prize of INR 25,000, and a "Poster of the Week" is chosen based on the best skit.
