SIIMA Film Awards 2024 Nominations: The South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) return with their prestigious 12th edition, set to celebrate the crème de la crème of South Indian cinema. Known for bridging global South Indian film aficionados with their beloved stars, SIIMA promises a grand spectacle honouring outstanding achievements across the Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam film industries.

Recently unveiled nominations have sparked excitement, highlighting top contenders in various categories. Leading the pack are "Dasara" (Telugu), "Jailer" (Tamil), "Kaatera" (Kannada), and "2018" (Malayalam), each securing multiple nods and affirming their status as commercial successes within their respective domains.

In Telugu cinema, "Dasara," featuring Nani and Keerthy Suresh, leads the nominations race with an impressive tally of 11 nods. Following closely is "Hi Nanna," starring Nani alongside Mrunal Thakur, which has garnered 10 nominations. Nani's exceptional performances in both 2023 releases have garnered acclaim from audiences and critics alike, earning him nominations for Best Actor. Alongside Nani, the leading actresses Keerthy Suresh and Mrunal Thakur, directors Srikanth Odela and Shouryuv, and music composers Santhosh Narayanan and Hesham Abdul Wahab have also received nominations across major categories. "Dasara" marks the directorial debut of Srikanth Odela, while "Hi Nanna" showcases the directorial prowess of newcomer Shouryuv.

Tamil superstar Rajinikanth's action-packed "Jailer," directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, leads the Tamil nominations with 11 nods, underscoring its impact at the box office and with critics. Following closely is Udhayanidhi Stalin and Keerthy Suresh's "Maamannan," recognised with nine nominations for its compelling narrative and performances.

In the Kannada category, "Kaatera," starring Darshan, secures eight nominations, showcasing its widespread acclaim among audiences. "Saptha Sagaradache Ello - Side A," featuring Rakshit Shetty and Rukmini Vasant, follows closely with seven nominations, reaffirming its place as a standout in Kannada cinema.

Malayalam's offerings include Tovino Thomas and Asif Ali's gripping survival drama "2018," which received eight nominations, reflecting its box office success and critical acclaim. "Kathal - The Core," starring Mammootty and Jyothika, follows with seven nominations, highlighting its impactful storytelling and stellar performances.

The SIIMA 2024 awards ceremony is scheduled to take place in Dubai on September 14 and 15, promising an extravagant affair with elaborate arrangements.
