Director Harish Shankar shot into fame with his film Mirapakay with Raviteja as hero. He has become a sought after for many heroes and Pawan Kalyan choose him to remake Salman Khan's Dabangg. However, he asked the director to chose the main theme of the film and rewrite the entire script to suit the Telugu nativity with good humour and the director stood to the expectations of the hero and the hero stood to the expectations of the director and played the comedy with perfect timing and as a whole, the film has become a visual treat to the audiences in general and Pawan fans in particular.

Story: Naidu (Nagineedu) marries a girl (Suhasin) who already had a son called Venkataratnam Naidu (Pawan Kalyan). Venkataratnam Naidu repeatedly watches Sholay film and likes the character of Gabbar Singh and fond of calling himself as Gabbarsingh. After he grows, he becomes a daring and dashing police officer. He gets posted as a police officer to his hometown Kondaveedu, which is facing so many troubles from Siddhappa Naidu (Abhimanyu Singh), who is just a goon but has plans of becoming a political leader.

Gabbar Singh decides to adjust the law and order problems after getting posted to Kondaveedu and starts confronting with Siddhappa. Meanwhile, he comes across a girl called Bhagyalakshmi ( Shruti Hassan) and loses his heart to her. Later, things started getting murky as several emotions comes to the fore like jealousy, hatred and greed. Gabbarsingh does not want to allow the atrocities of Siddhappa to continue as people were suffering and put a break to them. Did Gabbar Singh is able to crush the atrocities with an iron hand being a police officer? What happened to the love of Gabbar Singh? What price Gabbarsingh pays in his rivalry with Siddhappa? Answers to all these questions forms part of the rest of the story.
