Nagarjuna's Soggade Chinni Nayana opened to super positive reports and the audience, who managed to watch the premieres in overseas and benefit shows in Telugu states, calling it a perfect film for Pongal. With super stunning casting and a different screenplay, a touch of Telugu nativity, Soggade Chinni Nayana seems to be winning the hearts, instantly.

Soggade Chinni Nayana has all the chances to end up as the Pongal winner, due its content and the early positive responses.

Whenever Nagarjuna has done entertaining roles, films have always clicked. Same is the case with Soggade Chinni Nayana which is a complete family entertainer. Nagarajuna’s live wire performance and some very neatly executed family emotions are huge assets for this film. Barring the slow pace during the second half, this film ends up as an enjoyable watch for every section of the audience this Sankranthi season.

Soggade Chinni Nayana is a family story with a fantasy element. Plus points are Nagarjuna’s terrific performance for two characters, Bangarraju’s entertainment and village backdrop. On the flipside, the screenplay should have been interesting. Bangarraju character, family orientation (though Bangarraju’s character is flirtatious) and sentiment might work in favor of Soggade Chinni Nayana.

Soggade Chinni Nayana is a film which understands the environment it is set in quite well and that makes a lot of difference in bringing the characters alive. Barring the boring moments in the second half, it’s a simple film with its heart and soul in the right place. Go watch it.

A well-written and well-executed film with splendid performances, especially by Nag and Ramya Krishna. A socio-fantasy, it will be remembered more for its rom-com strengths.
