Telugabbai Story

Telugabbai is a triangular love story, which revolves around two Indian families, who have settled down in Malaysia. Director Avinash O Sridhar has tried his best to impress the film goers, but his old storyline and slow-paced narration do not support him. His script lacks freshness and there is nothing new in the treatment of the subject. The only new thing in the film is that the whole movie has been shot in Malaysia. Arun (Tanish) and Bulan (Remya Nambeesan) are childhood friends, who are staying with their parents in Malaysia. Arun is in love with a model Megha (Tashu Kaushik). Bulan shares a good relationship with her and she tries to patch up the couple whenever tiffs and misunderstandings arise between them. Irritated with his possessive nature, Megha decides to marry her boss and moves to India. After their breakup, Bulan falls in love with Arun and he also starts loving her. At this juncture, Megha renters the scene. What happens next will form the crux of the story, which should be watched on screen.

Telugabbai Critics Review

Telugu actor Tanish, who was last seen on screen in the movie Chanakyudu, looks handsome and has good acting skills. The nine-film old star has been making all possible attempt to get a big break, but in vein. One reason for his failure is that he has failed to choose a right kind of script. Now, his ninth outing Telugabbai has hit the screen and the actor fails once again to impress the audience due to tried and tested story.

Telugabbai is a romance drama, and Tanish and Ramya Nambeesan's performances are the main highlight in the film. Mejo Joseph's music, beautiful picturisation and choreography of songs are its other strengths. But the film has abundance of drawbacks. Age-old story and dialogues, slow and dragging narration, weak characterisation and a few illogical sequences are some of its main weaknesses.

The movie is a triangular love story, which revolves around two Indian families, who have settled down in Malaysia. The film lacks novelty, entertainment and the kind of romance found in a triangular love story. As a Telugu boy in Malaysia, Tanish has given decent performance and he looks good in dance and sentimental sequences. At times, his character is very irritating as he is shown as a weakling always dependent on woman. He has tried his best to show it through his acting. Remya Nambeesan has a very good scope for acting in this movie Telugabbai. She holds the whole movie together and impresses us highly with her acting skills. Her chemistry with Tanish is good to watch.

Another actress Tashu Kaushik has less screen space when compared to Remya and she has tried her best to woo the audience. But she is obese and does not fit in the character of a model in Malaysia. The director should have taken care of this aspect before casting her. Nagababu and others have done justice to their respective roles.

Mejo Joseph's music and background score is the main attraction in the technical front. A couple of his compositions are good and hummable. The picturisation of some places in Malaysia is brilliant. Avinash's story, screenplay, dialogues and direction, and the editing of the movie are poor.

Overall, Telugabbai is a good entertainer with all outdated stuffs. Watch it at your own risk.
