Defamation suit filed against Meera Jasmine

What is it with Meera and controversies? We even wonder if controversy is her second name or something? The petite, soft-spoken actress seems to have spun herself into another controversy.

This time around, it is of a different kind. Thrissur based organization 'Immanuel Charities' is suing Meera for failing to turn up for the event, which she committed and took advance for. Mr Biju of the organization claims to have paid Meera an advance of Rs. 30,000/- for appearing in a cultural program organized by 'Immanuel Charies' last November.

Much to everyone's disappointment Meera did not turn up for the event, which prompted Biju to file litigation against her in Thrissur court. Biju stated in the petition that he suffered huge losses owing to the cancellation of the show, which Meera promised to attend.

Biju further requested the court in his petition seeking for a compensation of Rs.1,75,000/- from Meera for his personal and monetary loss. The court has issued a petition to Meera seeking clarifications. "
