Raraju is the first mass entertainer under GVG Raju's SSC Arts . All the films that were made under this banner like 'Toliprema, Chirujallu' and the most recent film Godavari are the films with a class touch. Though Raraju too has some scenes that have a touch of sentiment, most of the film would be an entertainer. Producer GVG Raju says, 'One can find that it is a mass entertainer by just reading the title. The hero's role in the film will be rough and tough. The hero's name is Kali. He falls in love with a girl accidentally. When he realizes the target of the girl, he will help her achieve it. Though not a King, he was called King of Kings because of his good qualities. I believe the film would attract all classes of audiences.' He further says, 'Udayshankar had prepared the subject. He has a good grip on how to reap sentiment in his films and his earlier films like Kalisundam Raa and Premato Raa proved it. Now he mixed a little bit of mass and made the film without losing the sentimental touch. I liked the climax very much and shot it first to avoid a change at a latter date to suit the remaining part of the film. Udayshankar brought out the film.
