Its that part of the year when we sit back and take a look at the year that is coming to an end.

This time around, the big competition was on between Trisha, Nayantara and Ileana.

Trisha began the year with a big disappointment - Pournami. This was Prabhudeva's much-awaited second film after the very successful Nuvvostanante Nenodantana. Soon, she got a very big break when Chiranjeevi invited her to star in Stalin. The film became a big hit. But she followed that one up with Sainikudu. It's a film that Mahesh Babu would love to forget. The audience wasn't that happy about the heroine, who in the beginning of the film, is in love with the notorious villain. She is now the heroine of director Selvaraghavan's new film with Venkatesh.

Nayantara began her innings with Lakshmi and followed it up with the very sensuous Boss. After a long time, finally, here is an actress who looks good in both saris and western wear. Throughout the year, she made headlines in Tamil for the alleged romance with her Vallabha co-star Simbu.

She is now the heroine of Yogi and will soon start working in another film with Venkatesh. She also starred in an item number of the much-anticipated film, Shivaji.

Sneha made a phenomenal appearance in Nagarjuna's image-breaking Shri Ramadasu. The audience simply adored her. But even she couldn't stop the phenomenal rise of Ileana. Here is the gorgeous heroine who looks straight out of school but her paycheck would make even the principal faint. However, the actress had recently been drawing flak for her vulgar dance movements and a bad sense of costumes on the screen.

Sameera Reddy made an appearance Ashok. The film did well but it looks highly unlikely that she would want to return to Telugu.

Laya got married and had quit the industry.

Aarthi Agarwal fell off the stairs and almost lost her life. But she made a dramatic recovery and completed Andalaramudu. The film turned out to be a hit, much to her reassurance. She has now decided to take a break and focus on higher studies.

Simran is making a comeback with NTR's Okka Magudu. It's a guest appearance but a good way to regain foothold in the industry.

Names to watch out for- Trisha, Nayantara and Ileana. Just keep an open mind for some surprises too!
