Visakha Film City works

The State Film Development Corporation (FDC) president G Adiseshagiri Rao reiterated that Visakhapatnam would be another centre for the film industry. It may be mentioned here that the State Cabinet gave its nod to allocate 316 acres for the establishment of Film City in Visakhapatnam. Adiseshagiri Rao says, 'The Film City works would be undertaken by the FDC. Several prominent film personalities are planning to set up studios in Visakhapatnam and some of them held discussions with the State government. For that matter, Ramanaidu had already started construction of film studio there. Now the Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy took a wise decision to allocate land for all those who wanted to set up studios at one place instead of giving at different places. However, it would be discussed at the FDC on how to establish the film city and would submit a proposal to the government. A decision would be taken by 2007. We will also take steps to provide the basic amenities for the setting up of film city there.
