Aasaa Deevi, treat for children

The shooting of Aasaa Deevi directed and produced by P Sunil Kumar Reddy on the banner of Shravya Films was launched on May 3. Executive producer of the film Y Ravindrababu gave the clap, while presenter of the film Pedada Ramani Kumari switched on the camera for the muhurat shot picturised on child artiste Deepak Saroj.

Director cum producer Sunilkumar Reddy has made this film with international film festivals in mind. "We entered into the film industry to bring out meaningful films. We are making Aasaa Deevi with international standards. Shooting would be completed by August. We will send this film as our entry to the International Children's Film Festival to be held in November," he added.

Ramani Kumari gave an insight to the story of the film by saying, "The film would have tsunami as its backdrop. Because of tsunami, children of four different languages and countries get caught in an island. They don't know any language other than what they speak, so they can't speak to each other. However, they plan together to get out of the island. Did they succeed in their attempt or not is the subject. We are planning to shoot the film in Hyderabad, Vizag, Kerala and Pondicherry and other places."

Master Deepak Saroj said that he had played child artiste in over 20 films. His film Missing was directed by Sunil Kumar Reddy. Executive producer Y Ravindrababu also said, "This is my sixth film in Sravya Films. Two other children's films that were shot earlier on this banner were screened at international film festivals. Even this subject was also approved by Film Development Corporation."

Master Deepak Saroj, Y Raveendra babu, LB Sriram and Dr Moturi Ramakrishna have been finalized for the cast. Saketh Sairam is the music director and Sirasri has provided the story.
