<i>Maharathi</i> slated for Feb. 1

Finally Maharathi, directed by P Vasu, presented by Rangan Adiseshaiah and produced by Vakada Appa Rao on the banner Sri Lalitha Kalanjali Productions with Balakrishna, Sneha and Meera Jasmine in the lead, was cleared of all hitches and is slated for release on February 1. In fact the film was slated for release on January 10 or 12. But was postponed due to some technical problems. The film had completed all the post-production formalities and got cleared by the Censor Board with 'U' certificate. Vakada Appa Rao says, 'Balakrishna played a character with different dimensions in this flick. It would remain a milestone in his career.

Kannada music director Gurukiran gave tunes for the film and the audio was also proved a biggest hit and recently we had celebrated the double platinum disc function. Sneha, Meera Jasmine and Navneet Kaur are filling the glamour slot. Senior artiste Jayaprada is playing a key role in this film.' Pradeep Rawat, Naresh, Kovai Sarala, Ali, Lakshmiapti, Geeta Singh and others are in the cast. Story and dialogues are by Thotapalli Madhu, cinematography is by Sekhar V Joseph, editing is by Suresh Urs and fights are by Dalapati Dinesh.
