The triple platinum disc function of Maisamma IPS was held in Hyderabad recently. Directed by Bharat Parepalli, presented by Dasari Padma and produced by K Ramakrishna Prasad under the Sowbhagya Media Ltd banner, the film has Mumaith Khan playing the lead role. Union minister and popular director Darsaka Ratna Dasari Narayana Rao had scripted the story and screenplay for the flick. As per his suggestion, the producers had released the audiocassettes into the market on their own and each cassette was priced at Rs 9.99. Hence over 2 lakh cassettes were sold on the first day itself.
Executive producer PD Prasad said, 'So far we have sold 3.75 lakh cassettes and CDs.' MS Reddy, who attended the programme as chief guest said, 'One had to have the skill not only in preparing something but also on exploring the ways to market it. Dasari Narayana Rao is an expert and his sword has a double edge. The songs are rich both in lyrics and also in music.' DVS Raju said, 'Though Dasari's entry into politics is a major blow to the film industry, he is guiding several people in the industry. I listened to the songs in 'Maisamma'. All the songs were in perfect sync to the mindset of the present generation and at the same time, there are good literary values.'
Dasari said, 'In my opinion, there are no small films or big films. That concept itself is wrong. There might be good or bad film, or hit or flop. Can you call 'Bommarillu' in the past and 'Happy Days' in the recent past big films or small films? The statement of audio companies that there is no market for small films is absurd. I have always adviced the people of the industry to release the audios on their own and the producers implemented it."
"Srilekha gave melodious tunes and we are confident that the audio sales would reach to five lakh cassettes/CDs. After the release of the film both the director Bharat Parepalli and Mumaith Khan would earn good name', he added. D Ramanaidu, MS Reddy, DVS Raju, Dasari Padma, Devivara Prasad, Vadde Ramesh, Kodandarami Reddy, KL Narayana and others presented the triple platinum discs to the unit members. Tammareddy Bharadwaja, MS Narayana, RP Patnaik, Prabhakar, Chandrabose, Mumaith Khan and others attended.
