The Telugu film industry is all set to celebrate its Diamond Jubilee celebrations from January 26 to 28 at the International Convention Centre in Hitex Grounds of Hyderabad on a grand scale. Revealing the details chief convenor of the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations Committee says, 'Our State Governor Rameshwar Thakur would launch the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations. Justice Ramanujam, Union ministers Dasari Narayana Rao, Daggubati Purandareswari, T Subbarami Reddy, Ambarish, Assembly Speaker Suresh Reddy and State minister Konijeti Rosaiah would be the guests on the first day. On the same day the History of Telugu Film Producers prepared under the guidance of Dasari Narayana Rao, DVS Raju and Murari would be launched.'
He further says, 'For the programme to be held on January 28, Chief Minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy, Union Minister for Information Priyaranjan Dasmunshi, Minister for Mines Dasari Narayana Rao, FDC chairman G Adiseshagiri Rao, Diamond Jubilee Committee chairman Dr D Ramanaidu would be attending as guests. A museum to mark the occasion would be inaugurated by Balakrishna. An exhibition containing the photographs of NTR and ANR would be held. Every day at least four Telugu cinema legends would be felicitated. First of all Akkineni Nageswara Rao would be felicitated. At least 75 film personalities would be felicitated in total. There would be excellent and enthralling cultural programmes on every day evening for those three days. Artistes from Russia, Australia and China are also arriving in to give performances. There was a good response for the programmes from all quarters and everyone is coming forward to bear the expenses. Several film personalities are coming forward and voluntarily taking donor passes.'
These celebrations would be held for three days from morning till night. Those who are related to the film industry could participate in all the events from morning till 4 pm without any passes. But for the cultural festivities donor passes are a must. Those who are expected to participate in the event include B Sarojadevi, Showcar Janaki, Krishnakumar, Kajole, Mahesh Bhatt, Jitendra, Anil Kapoor, Kamal Hassan, Vikram, Surya, Balachander, Bharati Raja, All India Film Federation leaders, besides several south Indian States' Film Federation leaders. We are confident that these celebrations would prove the unity among the artistes and technicians.
