Anushka' Arundhati at 13 crores

Arundhati starring Anushka (also spelt Anuskha), produced by Shyam Prasad Reddy, has already exceeded its Rs. 10 crores budget; now sources say the actual expenditure is Rs. 13 crores, most of which was spent on graphics and special effects. Anushka has a juicy double role in this heroine-centric movie about a princess from ancient India and a modern day career girl.

Directed by Kodi Ramakrishna, the film has been almost 28 months in the making. Most of the shooting was held in an old bungalow in Banaganapalli. Sonu Sood and Sayaji Shinde play vital roles in the film. Music is by Koti and the music is expected to release very soon.

Shyam Prasad Reddy is known for his extravagant fantasies steeped in high-end animation. His Talambralu, Ammoru and Anji are prime examples of how graphics can enhance a movie's potential at the box-office.

Arundhati is expected to hit theatres on January 9.
