King trimmed upon public demand

King, released with much fanfare on Christmas Day, is proving to be runaway hit in the overseas market. Directed by Srinu Vaitla and produced by D. Sivaprasada Reddy under the Kamakshi Kala Movies banner, Trisha is paired opposite the youthful looking Nagarjuna for the first time. The film also features a hugely extravagant song in which Nagarjuna dances with some reigning Telugu heroines like Anushka, Priyamani, Charmi, Kamna Jethmalani and Genelia.

After the first day's shows, director Srinu Vaitla reportedly bowed to popular opinion and trimmed King's running time by 10 minutes. The film, launched with 300 prints globally, got off to a running start with reviewers heaping praises on the film.

But the most commonly-heard complaint was that the movie was too long, especially for overseas audiences who prefer to watch movies which are shorter. The film is currently showing in all theatres in the newly-edited version.
