Simran to rock Maa TV

Maa TV, the Telugu channel has roped in Simran, the former reigning queen of Telugu and Tamil filmdom, for a serial titled Simran Marapurani Kathalu. Pyramid Saimira Production International Services Ltd. will produce it and MAA TV will telecast it from 26th May 2008, daily, Monday to Thursday, in the prime slot -- 8:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Unlike other 'mega'serials being aired on Telugu channels, this serial is composed of short stories. Each story, limited to 20 episodes, will be directed by a well-known director. That would mean that each month, a new story would be telecast. Simran will play the lead in all the stories.

Thammareddy Bhardwaj, Head Content (AP), PSPIL, informed the press that the series will be like a breath of fresh air in Telugu serials. He said he was happy to be associated with Maa TV for telecasting the serial.

A similar serial, called Simran Thirai, is being aired on a major Tamil channel with Simran as the protagonist.
