Saikumar contests for Karnataka Assembly

It is not new for film stars to try their luck in elections and several artists, were elected to Assembly, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha and even held ministerial posts. Now, Dialogue King Saikumar is trying his luck in the Karnataka Assembly Elections.

It is worth mentioning here that Saikumar has an equal fan following both in Telugu and Kannada. He is contesting on Bharatiya Janata Party ticket from Bagepalli constituency, adjacent to the Anantapur district borders. There is a very good response to his public meetings and a large numbers of people are thronging his meetings. If he could garner the votes from all those, who attended the public meeting, his victory would be very easy.

However, Saikumar is facing a tough fight from the sitting MLA from Communist Party of India (Marxist) Srirami Reddy and Congress nominee Sampangi. In order to face the tough competition from Saikumar, the Congress candidate is planning to request the Chief Minister, Dr YS Rajasekhar Reddy to campaign in the party's favour.
