Stamp to honour BN Reddy

BN Reddy is the doyen of Telugu cinema. He has made such memorable films like Swargaseema, Malleswari, Devatha and Yogi Vemana.

A stamp to commemorate his 100th birth anniversary was released by the postal department on Sunday. Chief minister YS Rajashekar Reddy, Akkinni Nageswara Rao, Syam Benegal, Latha Reddy, Viswanatha Reddy and others were the chief guests at the function.

Doctor Varaprasad Reddy said that the chief minister reacted favourably to his proposal of releasing a stamp on BN Reddy and promptly wrote a letter to the prime minister.

BN Reddy has been honoured with the Padma Bhushan and Dadasaheb Phalke award.
