Balakrishna to contest for TDP

Here is a new addition to the list of Tollywood actors plunging into politics. According sources, chances are that Balakrishna will be getting a Telugu Desam Party ticket to contest this year"s Parliament elections.

Balakrishna, following the footsteps of his father the late NTR has been actively involved in politics for some time now and was campaigning for the TDP for the upcoming elections. Latest reports say that a preliminary list of candidates for TDP is out and Balakrishna has been given a ticket to contest from the TDP stronghold, Hindupur Constituency.

Interestingly, Hindupur is the native constituency of NTR, founder of Telugu Desam Party. If the news of Balakrishna contesting the elections is true, TDP will expect a landslide victory for him since his father NTR was a well-respected politician and served as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh twice.
