Two weeks after its release, Devarakonda Veeraiah has been withdrawn from theatres for slight changes. The move comes after the film received grave criticism about some of its controversial scenes.
Produced and directed by R. Narayana Murthy, Devarakonda Veeraiah is the story of a doting father and daughter. After having gone through some bitter experiences, the father is forced to take the law in his hands to eliminate the antisocial elements in the village. A few scenes which poignantly deal with some burning issues in society have invited a lot of criticism, which prompted Murthy to recall the film. Also the film will undergo a name change from Devarakonda Veeraiah to Kuthuru Kosam. The re-shoot is progressing fast.
Speaking to the media, Murthy assured that the film will get released again with the new name after minor changes are made.
