Krishnavamsi's Mahatma, a dynamite to the core

Srikanth and Bhavana are playing the lead in Mahatma directed by Krishnavamsi and produced by CR Manohar under the banner of Golden Lion Films. This is the 100th film in Srikanth"s career. The title logo of the film and the trailers of the film were released at a function held at Filmnagar Cultural Centre. Ravi Teja attended the programme and unveiled the logo.

Speaking on the occasion Krishnavamsi said, “I have never prepared any story keeping any artiste/hero particular in view. However, I have designed Mahatma exclusively for Srikanth as it is his 100th film. The character played by Srikanth is not just an ordinary role. No one else can do justice to that role. He too has lived up to the standards of my expectations. In my opinion, this film is like dynamite. My guru Sirivennela Sitaramasastry has penned a fantastic song on Mahatma Gandhi. I should mention another point here that the Paruchuri brothers have stood like a wall behind me in making this film. We are planning to launch the film on September 19 and release the film before Dasara or by Gandhi Jayanti."

Srikant said, “I had decided some two years ago itself to do my 100th film only with Krishnavamsi. I am proud to do this film in his direction. Moreover, doing a film in association with Paruchuri brothers is another asset." Paruchuri brothers sais, “How a hero who likes the violence most, turns towards non-violence is the subject of this movie. The director has moulded the story and the character of the hero with utmost precision. We are confident that the audiences would definitely make the film a big hit. We can say, it is like an Alluri Sitarama Raju for the senior artiste Super Star Krishna, and Tagore for Chiranjeevi."

Charmi is playing a special role. Lyrics are by Sitaramasastry, Suddala Ashok Teja, Lakshmi Bhupal, music is by Vijay A ntony, cinematography is by Sarat, editing is by Shankar, action is by Ravi Varma, art is by Srinivasa Rao, while story, screenplay and direction are by Krishnavamsi.
