Dil Raju starts Maro Charitra

It is well aware that Maro Charitra in the combination of K Balachander and Kamal Hassan was a run away hit film on love subject. After a gap of three decades Dil Raju has come forward to remake the film with Varun Sandesh as hero and a debutant Anita as heroine. The point to be noted here is that the producer is launching a new banner for the film called Matinee Entertainment Pvt Ltd. However, it is being presented by Sri Venkateswara Creations Pvt Ltd.

The shooting of the film was formally launched with puja activities by K Raghavendra Rao, who handed over the script to director Ravi Yadav. Dil Raju said, “We took the story based on the theme of love which might be old, but the lovers will always be freshers. We chose the basic theme of Maro Charitra and changed it suitably to suit the present trend. We got permission from Balachander for using his subject and title. The first schedule was planned in the US as the film is going to be made with America as the backdrop. The second schedule would be in Hyderabad and Vizag. We are planning the film in Telugu and Tamil languages simultaneously. Gemini Film Circuits is presenting the Tamil version and I am making my debut into the Tamil film industry through this movie. We have already recorded four songs for the film under the music direction of Mickey J Meyer and two more are yet to be tuned. We are confident that our film would also be a musical hit along the lines of the original."

Yami Gautam, Pratap Potan, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Naresh, Talaivasal Vijay, Sandhya Janak, Adarsh, Urvasi and others are in the cast. Original story and screenplay are by K Balachander, while the adoption, additional screenplay, cinematography and direction are by Ravi Yadav.
