Godfather finally gets a statue in his honour

Raghupathi Venkayya is the god father and pioneer of Telugu cinema. The government has even constituted an award in his memory. The bust of Raghupathi Venkayya was unveiled at the Film chamber in Hyderabad on March 15 to mark his death anniversary.

President of the Film Chamber KS Rama Rao said that they would install the full size statue of Raghupati Venkayya at a suitable place in film Nagar after taking permission from the government. A film academy in the name of Raghupathi Venkayya will also be established and the chamber also plans to institute a lifetime achievement award in various categories in his name.
