Simbu's Silambattam becomes Maavadu

Reigning Tamil action hero Simbu's recent Tamil action extravaganza Silambattam, directed by cinematographer-turned-director Saravanan and produced by Muralidharan, will be dubbed in Telugu as Maavadu. Released on December 19, 2008 to packed houses in India, Silambattam was declared a super hit from its third week onwards, as it is did good business in most centres.

The Telugu audio release was held at the Four Frames theatre on Tuesday (March 11). The audio was released by Producer Council President Ramnarayan and received by producer R.B. Chowdry of Super Good Films. Producers Murlidharan, Venu Gopal and Swaminathan were present in the event.

With the release of Silambattam in Telugu, Simbu will join the club of actors like Surya and Vishal, whose films are routinely dubbed into Telugu, producer Vasu said. Maavadu will hit theatres within the next couple of weeks.
