Akkineni award to Vyjayantimala Bali

The prestigious Akkineni award for the year 2008 was presented by Vyjayantimala Bali at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad on Sunday. The veteran actress had visited the studio as well as the Akkineni awards gallery.

Speaking on the occasion, she said, 'I am very happy for receiving the esteemed Akkineni award. I liked the Annapurna Studios very much. After watching the awards gallery, I have realized how big an artiste Akkineni is and about his lifetime achievements. Akkineni is not only a great artiste but also a person who has a broad thinking."

In reply Akkineni remarked, "I am also very happy that the jury has selected the right person, who is basically a good dancer and artiste. No doubt, she has all the necessary qualities to receive this award. We have acted together in a Tamil film Adisayapen in 1959.' Akkineni Foundation member Venkat Akkineni also participated in the event.
