Anushka to play Rudramadevi

After Arundhati Anushka got a huge fan following and several producers are coming forward with lady-oriented subjects. However, she has become very choosy while responding to the offers. Several directors are preparing special stories exclusively keeping Anushka in view. One among them is Gunasekhar, who had completed the groundwork and prepared an impressive subject. His latest film Varudu had almost completed shooting and he is getting ready for his next project.

Gunasekhar was of the opinion to bring out the film with high technical values and huge budget. It is learnt that 'Rudramadevi" is the title under consideration. It may be mentioned here that Gunasekhar planned to do a film on Gona Gannareddy, based on the novel penned by Adavi Bapiraju. However, he dropped the project learning that 'Simhasanam" was made with the same subject. Now he has prepared another subject called 'Rudramadevi", wherein Gona Gannareddy played a knight.

Gunasekhar feels that Anushka would suit the role of Rudramadevi and consulted her too. However, the film needs a huge budget to the tune of Rs 40 crore and is looking for a producer who could invest. Meanwhile, Lawrence is also planning to do a film with Anushka and prepared a story for her. Titled as Kanchana the film reportedly got a green signal from Anushka.
