Sagara Sangamam to be screened at Kamal's films fest

screened
in
Kamal
Hassan's
film
festival
titled
'Retrospective
of
Kamal
Haasan
Films" at
Siri
Fort
auditorium,
New
Delhi.
A
three
days
festival
has
been
organized
as
an
honour
for
completing
50
years
in
film
industry.
The
festival
is
held
from
2nd
July
to
4th
July.
Union
Information
and
Broadcasting
Minister
Ambika
Soni
inaugurated
the
film
festival
yesterday.
Kamal
Hassan
along
with
his
wife
Gauthami
and
daughter
were
present.
The
festival
will
screen
seven
movies
of
the
actor
and
entry
is
free
for
the
public.
Telugu
film
Sagara
Sangamam
stars
Kamal
Haasan
and
Jayaprada
in
the
lead
roles.
The
movie
was
released
in
1983.
The
movie
bagged
National
Film
Award
for
'Best
Feature
Film'
in
Telugu
for
that
year.
Kamal
Hassan
also
won
'Best
Actor
Award'
for
his
amazing
perfomance
from
Asian
Film
Festival.
Bollywood
movie
Hey
Ram
will
open
up
the
festival
and
other
six
movies
which
will
be
screened
are
Telugu
movie
Sagar
Sangamam,
Tamil
movies
like
Virumaandi,
Anbe
Sivam,
Thevar
Magan,
Nayagan
and
Dasavathaaram.
The
Padma
Shri
award
winner
made
his
debut
in
film
as
achild
artiste
at
the
age
of
4
in
the
Tamil
movie
Kalathur
Kannamma.
The
film
was
released
in
12th
August
1959
and
he
won
the
'Best
Child
Artist'
for
the
film.
Haasan
holds
the
record
for
winning
nineteen
Filmfare
Awards
in
five
languages.
He
received
his
last
award
in
the
year
2000
and
he
requested
not
to
consider
him
for
further
awards.
