Mayabazar just can’t be remade

The all-time classic Mayabazar of Vijaya banner was released again recently after Gold Stone Technologies converted into colour. The film had completed 50 days run recently and a function was arranged to recall the memories.

Speaking on the occasion, Akkineni Nageswara Rao says, "It is sad that almost all the artistes in the film were passed away and I only remained to recollect the reminiscences of those great days. In fact, I did nothing for the success of the film. I just did justice to my character. It is a surprise to say who is the hero of the film. Great artistes like NT Rama Rao and SV Ranga Rao played key roles, besides Savitri, who could emote like a man and a woman with her body language."

"The character 'Abhimanyu" played by me could be done by anyone, but we can"t get artistes of the above caliber is just unimaginable. One thing I can surely say that it is just impossible to remake Mayabazar especially with such great combination once again. I tasted several successes and defeats in my career. I enjoyed them equally. As per a survey I faced 21 per cent flops in my career. If an artiste gets a hit, his life in the industry would grow by one more year, in case of a flop, the diminishing factor works" he added.

Colourisation creative director C Jaganmohan, Gold Stone executive producer PB Srinivas, Sushant, Krishnudu, Lagadapati Sridhar, Nataraj and others participated in the function.
