Nagavalli - Music Review

Expectations
The year 2010 has seen many chartbuster songs in Telugu film industry. The audience has witnessed many romantic and hip-hop numbers. But they have not come across many classical soundtracks. P.Vasu"s Nagavalli has exactly arrived at a time when the audience are expecting something different from regular tracks. The movie has burden of expectations as it"s prequel Chandramukhi had created a new record in audio industry in 2005. The movie, which stars Venkatesh, Anushka, Richa, Shradda Das, Poonam Kaur, Kamalinee Mukherjee, has Guru Kiran"s music and for which Chandrabose has penned the lyrics. Now let us see what this team has to offer.

Song: Kabbadi Kabbadi
Singer (s): Ranjith, Jogi Sunitha
The track gives a good opening to the album. Ranjith, Jogi Sunitha and chorus, headed by Guru kiran"s voice, has excellently blended with the tune. The song is more of a beats than vocal. This one is for sure could be in the minds of the listerners for atleast few months.

Song: Vandanalu Vandanalu
Singer (s): Rajesh Krishnan, Nandhita, Shamitha
Nandhita and Shamita kick-stars the song by 'Vandanalu Vandanalu". Sooner, Rajesh Krishnan comes in with soft vocal, which gives a listener a soothing experience. The 4.57 minutes number has the potential to go a long distance. Chandrabose"s lyrics are praise worthy.

Song: Ghirani Ghirani
Singer (s): SP. Balasubramaniam
The trump card is out in the form of 'Ghirani Ghirani". With SPB behind the mike, what does one expect? Yes, he has delivered one of the best in the recent times. The moment you hear the song it makes your ears to listen it again and again. The beats and instruments have added additional zing to the song. This song will un doubetdly will top the chartbuster of 2010.

Song: Omkaram Abhinaya
Singer (s): Chitra
Chitra enters the scene with 'Omkaram Abhinaya". The song has a classical base to it and it is tailor made for the singer. The number has a distinct classical music touch to it. The way it has been orchestrated with instruments will make an instant hit among classical music lovers.

Song: Vennaka Vennaka
Singer (s): SP. Balasubramaniam

SPB comes back again for a solo. This time it is for a song, which is tageted towards the masses. This number has a good rendition and lyrics. Surely, the audience will blow the whiste when it will be played on silver screen.

Song: Ra Ra Remix
Singer (s): Nithyashree, Sri Charan

Going with the trend, Nagavalli has 'Ra Ra" remix version. This belongs to the kind that instantly makes one shake a leg or two. The first 45 seconds of the song itself will make the listener to play the song for at least five times. it keeps a relentless pace right through its 3.44 minute duration. It is the coming together of Western and Indian instruments with haunting voice 'Nean Ra" and 'Ra Ra" in the background.

Overall
Nagavalli is a quality album, which doesn't have a single bad/below average song. Guru Kiran has given variety of songs with a right mix of meoldy and beats. 'Ghirani Ghirani" and a couple of slow tracks are actually the highlight of the album.
