Nayantara has no moral right to play Seetha: HMK

Popular South Indian actress Nayantara is having another tough time after Hindu Makkal Katchi (HMK) objected her reprising the character of Seetha in actor Balakrishna's forthcoming Telugu film Sri Rama Rajyam, which was launched yesterday, 22nd November, at Ramakrishna Studios, Nacharam, Hyderabad.

The HMK says that the epic Ramayana is a book of morals and Seetha believes in one man in life. Whereas Nayanatara has an alleged affair with choreographer-director Prabhu Deva, who has already married to Ramalatha. Kannan, the secretary of HMK, claims that Nayantara has tried to steal another woman"s husband in real life. So she has no moral right to play Seetha.

However, the HMK, a pro Hindu organisation, has often raised its voice against the violation of Hindu ethos. It had protested against Shriya Saran and Mallika Sherawat attending public functions in short dresses. Actress Khushboo has been criticized by it for her controversial statements. Most recently, it campaigned against actor Asin, Vivek Oberoi and Suriya for touring Sri Lanka for the shooting.
