Three time National Film Awards winning playback singer has been honored at the annual music festival Chennaiyil Thiruvaiyaru, which is organized by the popular music troupe Lakshman Sruthi.

Following this, Vani felicitated the noted Shastriya Sangeet singer Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt and Carnatic singer Shri Ravikiran. Vani is a very popular South Indian playback singer, who has lent her voice in many languages like Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi and Hindi. Many of her songs have become evergreen numbers.

In 2007, Vani was felicitated by 'Dasari Music Academy' with the title 'South Indian Meera". She has also won the 'National Film Awards" three times as the 'Best Female Playback Singer". She is now seen as the judge of Telugu singing competition in ETV.

Since her childhood, Vani dreamt to become a playback singer and she got her first break in Hindi films, when noted music director, Vasant Desai gave her three songs in the Hindi movie Guddi. Vani is also the youngest artiste, who has been awarded with the 'Sangeet Peet Samman".
