Kareena Kapoor wants to star in Arundhati remake

Kareena Kapoor like her counterparts seems to have bitten by remake bugs. The actress, who always loved to do woman-centric films, reportedly wants to remake Telugu blockbuster Arundhati in Hindi.

If reports are to be believed, Kareena Kapoor has liked Arundhati. The actress is very much impressed by Anushka Shetty's performance and is keen to act in the Hindi version of the film. It may be recalled that the names of Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukherjee, Vidya Balan, Kajol, were doing rounds for the lead character in the film.

A leading production house has acquired the remake rights of the film last year but its plans to make it in Hindi could not be materialized due to some reasons. It is said that Anurag Basu is directing the Hindi version of Arundhati. The movie bosses are also keen to cast Kareena Kapoor but nothing has been finalized. They are expected to announce about the project in coming days.

Anushka Shetty and Sonu Sood starrer Arundhati was directed by Kodi Ramakrishna. The movie was produced by M Shyam Prasad Reddy on the banner Mallemala Entertainments.
