Maddelacheruvu Suri shot dead

Maddelacheruvu Suri, the role played by Surya in Rakta Charitra, was killed yesterday by his close associate. He was attacked near Sanath Nagar, while he was going to Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad. Soon after that he was rushed to Apollo Hospital, where he breathed his last.

According to reports, Suri's close aide Bhanu allegedly shot him two bullets. One on his chest and other on stomach. Cops have suspected that the differences over political and land deals could be the reasons behind the murder. The incident has shocked Andhra Pradesh and Ananthpur district is on high alert.

Suri had recently seen Rakta Charitra 2 (RC) in Bengaluru. He had also praised Surya' performance in the film. RC is a biopic of Paritala Ravindra, a factionist and political leader from Andhra Pradesh, who was assassinated by Suri's men in 2005.
