Nagarjuna narrowly escapes plane accident

Gaganam star Nagarjuna narrowly escaped a plane accident after the pilot sensed some technical defects in the flight while taking-off from Shamshabad International Airport. The British Airways aircraft aborted the take-off and made an emergency landing yesterday.

The incident occurred on Tuesday around 7 AM, when the Boeing 767 aircraft suffered a tyre burst. The flight, which was on its way to London from Hyderabad, carried 179 passengers on board including actor Nagarjuna.

In its press release, British Airways has said that the technical issues with one of its engines forced the pilot to abort the take-off. "Our pilots are trained to deal with such eventualities and the procedure was carried out in a controlled and safe manner," it added.

Meanwhile, it has already accommodated alternative flights for a few passengers and the rest are being accommodated in hotels.
