“I never said 'I'm not a South actress” - Kajal Aggarwal

Kajal Aggarwal is disturbed after her statement has been wrongly picked up by the media. Recently, the actress has told a leading tabloid that she has not seen herself as a South Indian actress, which has created a furore in the South Indian film industry.

Clarifying her statement, The Magadheera actress told the Times of India, “I never said 'I'm not a South Indian actress. I said I am a Mumbai girl. Mumbai is my home and that means that I do not have to relocate. I was misquoted."

Following the reports, regional industries also planned to ban Kajal Aggarwal for her comment. Further elaborating, she said that she does not understand why her statement has been misinterpreted. The actress has a special place for the South film industry in her life. “South India is the birthplace of my career and I would never speak like this about the industry I am so attached to."

However, Kajal Aggarwal, who is making her Bollywood debut with Singam, has three South films in her kitty. Mahesh Babu starrer The Businessman, Naga Chaitanya's Dhada and KV Anand's Maatraan.
