Ponniyin Selvan titled Veerudu in Telugu

It is well-known that Mahesh Babu is making his debut in Tamil with Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan. The movie will be simultaneously made in Hindi and Telugu. Now, the latest we hear is that the Telugu version of the film will be titled as Veerudu.

Sources have claimed that the makers of the film have zeroed in on Veerudu. After considering a few titles, they decided to go with this title, says a source. But they are yet to register the title.

Mahesh Babu is playing the role of Aditya Karikalan in the historical movie. Actress Anushka Shetty will be enacting his sister's role in the film and Aarya will be seen as his brother in the film. The movie also stars Vijay and Sathyaraj in the lead roles.

However, the movie is the screen-adaptation of Kalki Krishnamurthy's epic novel 'Ponniyin Selvan'. The story of the film revolves around the Chola Dynasty. The expected-budget of the movie is said to be Rs. 200 crores, which is produced by the Sun Pictures .
