South Indian star weddings of 2011

The year 2011 has been hot and happening for many of the popular names of the South film industries. Not only on their professional front, but also in their personal life. While some became proud parents and a few others tied the knot. Now, we are recalling the sweet memories of the stars, who took the wedding vows in the current year.

Swetha Mohan, famous South Indian singer, was the first regional singer to tie the knot in 2011. She entered wedlock with her long time friend Ashwin on January 16.

Actress Navneet Kaur and Mahrashtra-based politician Ravi Rana tied the knot at Amravati in Vidarbha on 02-02-11. The wedding had become the talks of the town and entered the Guinness and Limca Record Books as it is the biggest ever mass marriage (3,612 couples) performed in the history.

It was a day, which will remain in the hearts of Andhrites for at least a few years, as they witnessed one of the most grand wedding ceremonies in the recent years, Allu Arjun married Sneha Reddy, who took wedding vows on March 6.

Malayalam superstar Prithviraj and Supriya got married at a private wedding ceremony held in Palakkat on April 25. They hosted two separate wedding receptions for relatives and film fraternity on April 30 and May 1.

Tollywood heartthrob Junior NTR wedded Pranathi Reddy in a traditional style at 2.41 AM on May 6 at a specially erected set for their marriage, which was reportedly worth Rs 18 crores.

Malayalam actress Shwetha Menon tied the knot with her boyfriend Sreevalsan J Menon. Her wedding was held at Neythalappurath Sastha Ayyappa Temple in Valanchery, Malappuram on Saturday, 18th June.

July 4 was the D-Day for the Aayarathil Oruvan star Karthi Sivakumar and its director Selvaraghavan, who took wedding vows. While the actor married the gal named Ranjani chosen by his family in Coimbatore, the filmmaker entered the wedlock with his girlfriend Geetanjali as per the Tamil customs in Chennai.

Malayalam actress Pranathi, daughter of former Malayalam film actor Jose and Ratna Prabaha, got married to Dr Sivarajan, son of Chennai-based Dr P Padmanaban and P Padmini. The popular South Indian star tied the knot with him at a grand wedding ceremony held at Kannur on 05 September.

Popular South Indian singing sensation Rajesh Krishnan married Ramya Vasishta on November 11. The couple tied the knot at Kollur Mookambika temple in Udupi district, Karnataka.
