Bollywood
movie
Tanu
Weds
Manu,
which
was
released
during
the
World
Cup
2011,
has
become
a
hit
film
of
the
year.
Now,
the
film
is
being
remade
in
Telugu
and
it
will
be
directed
by
Dil
Raju.
According
to
sources,
the
director
has
approached
comedian
Sunil,
who
has
agreed
to
play
the
lead
role
in
the
remake.
But
the
official
announcement
about
the
film
is
yet
to
come.
It
is
reported
that
many
Telugu
film
producers
were
in
the
race
to
buy
the
remake
rights
of
Madhavan-Kangana
Ranaut
starrer
Tanu
Weds
Manu,
but
it
was
finally
Dil
Raju
and
Nallamalapu
Bujji,
who
bagged
the
rights
from
Bollywood
producer
Shailesh
R
Singh.
The
duo
has
recently
started
their
own
production
house
named
Super
Good
Movies
and
they
have
planned
to
produce
this
remake
as
the
first
movie
under
the
banner.
However,
Tanu
Weds
Manu
is
all
about
Manu,
who
is
a
doctor
in
US,
comes
to
India
to
find
a
bride
for
himself
and
falls
for
Tanu
at
first
sight,
but
Tanu
is
a
free
spirited
girl
and
she
rejects
him.
Madhavan
and
Kangana
Ranaut
have
played
the
leads
in
the
original.
Now,
Sunil
is
said
to
play
the
Maddy's
role,
while
the
film
bosses
are
on
a
hunt
for
a
suitable
actress
for
the
female
lead.
