Trisha Krishnan will soon be crowned, as the highest paid actress of South India. The actress is all set to break the record set by Ileana D'cruz, who received Rs. 1.30 crore in Tamil movie Nanban, in her forthcoming untitled Telugu movie, which is a remake of Bollywood film Tanu Weds Manu.
Sources say that Trisha has demanded Rs. 2 crore to star opposite Sunil. The actress, who generally gets Rs. 1 crore per film, has hiked her remuneration to pair the comedian in the remake of Tanu Weds Manu. The makers of the film have recently met her and offered her the female lead role, which was famous made by Kangana Ranaut.
Production house sources say that Trisha did not gave her consent immediately. She took time to give the nod but demanded the hefty paycheck. However, the makers of the film are still considering it and they are confident of sealing the deal.
It may be recalled that the role was also offered to Tapasee but she rejected the offer due to her busy schedule. The Telugu version of Tanu Weds Manu is directed by Devi Prasad of Blade Babji fame.
Tanu Weds Manu is a romantic-comedy film written by Himanshu Sharma and directed by Anand L Rai. The story of Madhavan and Kangana Ranaut starrer film is about an NRI, who comes to India in search of a suitable life partner, and falls in love with a girl, who is dead against an arranged marriage.
