Venkatesh turns Swami Vivekananda

Spiritual films are attracting Tollywood stars of late. After Balakrishna (Sri Rama Rajyam), Nagarjuna (forthcoming Adi Shankaracharya), Pawan Kalyan (upcoming Prince of Peace), now Venkatesh has signed a project, which is a biopic of Swami Vivekananda.

Sharing his excitement, Venkatesh said that he is delighted to work in the project to be directed by Mani Shankar. The actor has been closely working with the director in the scripting stage, as the subject is close to his heart. The forthcoming Telugu movie is expected to hit the floors in April 2012. Other details about the project are still under wraps.

Meanwhile, Venkatesh's next project Bodyguard will be releasing on January 11, 2012. Soon, he will start shooting for Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu, which also features Mahesh Babu and Prakash Raj. Before starting the biopic of Vivekananda, the actor also has to finish a film with Meher Ramesh.
