passed
away
last
evening.
The
filmmaker,
who
was
suffering
from
chronic
leukaemia,
died
at
his
home
town
Tenali.
He
is
survived
by
his
wife
and
son.
The
director,
who
was
also
known
as
Vankineni
Rathna
Pratap,
directed
five
films
in
his
decade
long
career
in
the
Telugu
film
industry.
His
notable
films
were
Nagarjuna
starrer
Nuvvu
Vasthavani
and
Naalo
Unna
Prema,
which
featured
Jagapathi
Babu
and
Gajala
in
the
leads.
VR
Pratap
was
also
credited
for
directing
Junior
NTR's
debut
as
movie
a
hero,
Ninnu
Choodalani.
His
last
directorial
movie
was
Rajashekar
and
Meera
Jasmine
starrer
Gorintaku.
