Tollywood
Megastar
Chiranjeevi
has
now
turned
the
Union
Minister
for
Tourism.
All
thanks
to
the
cabinet
reshuffle
by
Prime
Minister
Manmohan
Singh.
Despite
joining
hands
with
Congress,
the
actor-turned-politician
had
been
denied
any
higher
position
for
almost
one
and
half
year.
His
entry
into
the
Union
Cabinet
has
made
all
his
fans
very
happy
and
they
celebrated
the
moment
with
sharing
sweets
and
bursting
crackers
on
Sunday.
The
new
Union
Cabinet
Ministers'
oath
ceremony
took
place
at
11.45
am
in
New
Delhi
on
Sunday,
October
28.
Along
with
21
other
Ministers,
Chiranjeevi
took
oath
on
the
occasion.
It
was
a
historical
moment
for
his
family.
His
wife
Surekha,
Allu
Aravind,
Ram
Charan
and
Upasana
were
present
at
the
ceremony
to
witness
this
moment.
But
Chiru's
brother
Pawan
Kalyan,
who
has
been
youth
leader
of
PRP,
gave
a
miss
to
this
event.
However,
Chiranjeevi
plunged
into
politics
with
his
own
political
party
'Prajarajyam
Party'
in
2008.
He
merged
his
PRP
with
Congress
(I)
in
February
2011.
Many
in
Tollywood
had
expected
that
he
would
be
in
Union
Minister's
position,
but
he
was
neglected
for
a
long
time.
He
gradually
attained
the
Rajya
Sabha
seat
in
April
2012
and
now
reached
the
position
of
Central
Tourism
Minister.
