Pawan
Kalyan's
latest
release
Cameraman
Ganga
Tho
Rambabu
has
opened
to
a
very
good
response
at
the
USA
Box
Office
in
its
opening
weekend.
It
has
beaten
Karan
Johar's
latest
film
Student
of
the
Year
in
the
country.
But
the
Puri
Jagannath
directed
movie
has
failed
to
break
the
first
weekend
collection
record
of
the
Power
Star's
previous
release
Gabbar
Singh.
Pawan
Kalyan's
last
release
Gabbar
Singh,
which
was
a
remake
of
Salman
Khan's
Hindi
film
Dabangg,
was
released
in
just
50
screens
in
America,
but
had
done
an
excellent
business
there.
The
Harish
Shankar
directed
film
had
collected
Rs
4.13
crores
($7,65,373)
in
its
opening
weekend.
Its
per
screen
average
was
working
out
to
$17,799,
which
was
better
than
that
of
the
original
movie
Dabangg.
Whereas,
Cameraman
Ganga
Tho
Rambabu,
which
was
released
in
80
screens
in
the
country,
has
also
done
a
wonderful
collection
at
the
USA
Box
Office.
It
has
collected
Rs
2.88
crores
($5,38,188)
in
the
country
in
the
first
weekend.
It
has
topped
the
collection
chart
in
the
USA,
beating
the
much-hyped
Bollywood
movie
Student
of
the
Year,
which
raked
in
Rs
1.75
crores
($3,26,508)
from
106
screens
in
its
opening
weekend.
However,
Cameraman
Ganga
Tho
Rambabu
is
one
of
the
most-awaited
movies
of
Telugu
in
2012
and
it
was
expected
to
smash
the
record
of
Gabbar
Singh,
but
it
has
failed
to
do
so.
Its
per
screen
average
is
$6,727,
which
is
almost
1/3rd
of
the
per
screen
average
of
blockbuster
movie
Gabbar
Singh.
The
makers
are
yet
to
make
out
what
went
wrong
with
this
film.
